Pocohantas Cookies

Saved In Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes

I came up with the recipe for my grandchildren, something good and soft and good for them too. The Disney Movie, Pocohantas was popular at the time, so I called these Pocohantas Cookies. This recipe makes a cookie with a cake-like texture.

Blend until creamy:

1/2 cup margarin or butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar

Add in:

1 egg

Add in and alternate with applesauce:

1 cup applesauce
2-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking sodea
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1-1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

Stir in:

1 cup raisins
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans (you may also use walnuts)

Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake 350F for 10 to 12 minutes.
