Easy Brownies
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 squares melted chocolate
- 3/4 cup sifted cake flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Mix together all ingredients, pour into an 8 inch square pan that has been greased. Bake at 350 for 25 - 30 minutes.

Chocolate Cake Mix Brownies
- 1 chocolate cake mix
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 egg
- 1/2-1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Mix together all ingredients well. Pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350F for 30-40 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cream Cheese Marble Brownies
- 1 package (21.5 oz.) brownie mix
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Prepare brownie mix as directed on package. Spread batter in greased 13″x9″ baking pan.
Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Blend in egg. Pour over brownie batter, cut through batter with knife several times for marble effect. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Bake at 350F for 35 to 40 minutes or until cream cheese mixture is lightly browned. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into squares. Makes 2 dozen brownies.
